Listened to Tina Fey’s Bossypants on audiobook. Like Mindy Kaling’s book, it’s a lot like a cool friend chatting with you about her life. Fey’s stories are a bit more substantive than Kaling’s, while still being funny. My favorite parts were getting to hear the details of her Sarah Palin imitation, her days in the Second City improv group, and her descriptions of driving across Pennsylvania for Christmas each year with her husband and daughter. She also makes specific comments just for the audio version which is kind of cool.
We like the bottles of Starbucks' Frappuccinos that you buy at the grocery, but they cost a lot and use a lot of bottles, so I played around with creating my own at home. They’re cheaper, less wasteful, and healthier (because I know what’s in them) but just as tasty. They’re also really easy to make.
Here’s the basic recipe:
- Make 2 cups of coffee
- Dissolve ½ cup sugar into coffee (You can use less)
- Pour the sweetened coffee into a quart-size glass jar (We use old juice jars)
- Add 2 cups milk (You could also use almond or soy milk)
- Refrigerate over night
- Shake before serving
Voila- a sweet-cold coffee drink is ready for you in the morning!
(You can adjust any of the amounts or ingredients)
